I got a pair of Boingo concert tickets for Christmas 1988. Its was New Years Eve at the San Diego Sports Arena. I already was familiar with the band, but seeing them live was something else. I was truly blown away! I have been a rabid Boingo fan ever since that night. I made three shows after that, they are really the best live act anywhere! I wish they never called it quits, lots of bands kept playing after they should of quit. Boingo was'nt even close to the dinosaur factor. Thanks Oingo Boingo for all the great music and memories. You still have tons of great fans who love you, and you are still making more!

I swear, my older brother played "Stay" when we were in the car, and I was like, "Who is THIS?", and he said, "Oingo Boingo, now be quiet and listen." And I am so happy I shut my mouth and listened to that sweet voice on the CD. Then I begged to see a picture and I saw this guy with bright red hair holding a microphone with a black shirt and multi-colored pants with his mouth wide open, and my brother said, "That's Danny Elfman." I said, "What kind of a last name is Elfman?" But I fell in love anyway, and even though I would sometimes get the words wrong, I'd sing "Stay" day and night, day and night, until I heard "Gratitude", "Goodbye-Goodbye", "Dead Man's Party", and secretly "Little Girls" and "Nasty Habits". I feel sorry Oingo Boingo never really found an audience in France, and that only few North Americans know about it - I never came across a Boingo fan in my few times in the US ( I might not have met the right people, I give you that one!).
